My Husbands Wife

Jewelry Holder for a Toddler

My Husband and I fun making this jewelry hanger for our daughter! She is almost 3 and has a small collection of kids play jewelry. The fun thing is. I get to make her the jewelry and something to put it in! She loves it!

So I decided I wanted to share how we made it. We had an old changing table that was pretty sad and falling apart. We tore it apart and I saved the one end of it. I knew that I wanted to make something with. It laid around for about a year just sitting there waiting to have a purpose. Until one day I had it figured out!

We gathered our supplies. The end of the changing table, paint, hooks, buckets (we didnt have enough of the round, so we used oval shapped), and the tools needed to finish the project.

We started off sanding the whole thing to get any loose paint and uneven edges off.

We wipped it down with a dry cloth to get any dust off and followed with a damp cloth to get the raiming dust or dirt. Now it was time to paint it to give it some flair. We used Rust-Oleum American Accents 2x ultra color in Gloss Candy Pink. It got a good 3 coats front and back.

Then my hubby drilled piolet holes for the t-cup hooks.

To hang it we used these (what I call) picture hangers. Marked our holes and...

I added some glitter to the ends to give it more dimension. I used the sheet of paper to block the adhesive spray from getting all over place.

For the finished product I took two different ribbons, about 12 inches long, glued them to the rungs. Tied them up to make pretty bows. That was my sons suggestion! We hung it where she would be able to reach in the buckets to get the jewelry out and put it in with ease. That is it! All finished!

I can't wait for our next project!

Thank you for tuning in!
