A local chain store has brought back the game room. You know, the quarter machines we used to play as kids. Like the "claw grabber", packman , or even the horse that went nowhere. We would stick a quarter in and play until we got something or we ran out of quarters. It brought up memories, questions, and worries.
Mom or Dad would give us a few quarters and we would play in the game room while they did the shopping. Nothing to worry about. Our parents didn't think anything of it. At present parents cant even think about leaving their kids alone. Not just for the thought of authorities getting involved, but predators as well.
In our modern world there is so much distrust and hate. It is sad if you think about it. When I was a child, my mom would send us out to play, no shoes, and without parental supervision. Today we worry about sending our kids outside, for fear that they will be stolen or authorities will reprimand us.
How I miss the good ol' days when kids got to be kids. No cares in the world.
