I did it once, I CAN do it again!
When I got married over 11 years ago, I was a whole lot smaller than I am today. I was a lonley housewife that had nothing to do. I was board and allowed myself to eat emotionally. I haven't given this place enough attention lately. I have been so busy with running the kids to their appointments and working on the Etsy shop (link below). I am working on getting the word out there about the hearing aid charms. So many people have said they love the idea! I love all of the out pouring of encouragement!
It has really been building my excitment. I may not...

Poptart People and Hearing Aid Charms!

Posted on January 22, 2018 at 12:55 PM Comments comments (0)
I am so excited!
My daughter is deaf. She uses hearing aids to hear. I avoided getting her ears pierced in fear that she would yank them out pulling her hearing aids. She started to notice my earrings. She would point to my ears and then her own. So I started looking for ideas to give her "earrings." I wasn't disappointed. I found charms that can hang on the tubbing. Then I thought "Why buy something from someone...

Like Mother Like Daughter

When I was growing up my mom tried and tried to get me to sit down and crochet with her. I didn't want to learn. It was boaring and to frustrating. I didn't have the patients to learn something that I didn't want to do.

About 5 years ago I had three friends that were pregnant at the same time and I wanted to do something for them. So my mom was patient and sat down w...

You dream of the perfect Christmas morning. You make plans to wake up before the kids and set an alarm for 6am. The morning of you wake up make your cinnamon rolls, get your makeup on, and have the fireplace going (real or fake). You get ready to see the kid’s reactions as they see what Santa brought them.

Nope. Both kids have been struggling with a head cold.

There is very few store bought decorations on my Christmas Tree. For the past several years the kids and I have made homemade ornaments to hand on our tree. It has become a tradition. I wanted to share with you this years pick.

We dont just make one or two for our tree. Each child makes one for grandparents. So in total we usually make 8-10 decorations. This year we chose to make reindeer out of popsicle sticks.

Grocery Store Melt down

You are walking through the grocery store. It doesn’t matter which one or even what city. You are either there for one thing or for many things. There it is, that sound you hope you don’t hear, a child screaming or baby crying. Do you sneer at the mother or father? Do you tell them to control you children? Or, are you the mother or father of the screaming child?

I caught myself the other day walking through our local Wa...

Life in the Middle of Hearing Impaired

I am a mom of children with disabilities and disorders. Now don’t get me wrong. I know moms with children that have a harder time then we do. I’m not discounting their struggles, stresses, or strength. This is what I am experiencing on my journey.

My toddler is deaf (socially correct “hearing impaired”). My 6 year old has been diagnosed with ADHD and has been tested for hearing loss that determined there i...
